I'd like to take a short moment to post a tribute to Michael Jackson. I must say I was shocked when I heard the news... With Michael Jackson's death, we leave behind a great music icon, somebody who, despite the problems in the last few years, has truly left an impact on people all around the globe.
Whether you liked him or not, nobody can deny that the success he acheived was huge and I seriously doubt anybody in the future will ever be as successful as him, at least in our life time. Just to put that into perspective, here are a few things he has acheived:
- Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice
- Multiple guinness world records - including 'most successful entertainer of all time'.
- 13 Grammy Awards
- 13 number one Singles
- His album 'Thriller' is the most successful album of all time. Selling up to 109 million records. Just to see how much that is, the second most succesful album of all time is Back in Black of AC/DC and sold 45 million.
It is sad to hear especially since we have now lost some of the best musicians of all time: John Lennon, Elvis Presley...Musicians who changed or developed entire music genres. It's hard to find a band or musician nowadays who leaves such an impact and whether you liked M Jackson or not, we can't deny that he was a huge all around the world. Just the fact that he had sold out 50 shows after several years of not performing is enough proof.
Please feel free to leave comments here, if you have anything to say!
RIP Michael Jackson.
I'll be posting some more updates on Seekopia later on.
